Our vision is to live in a world where the arts are recognized as essential to the well being and health of everyone.
Mission and Mandate
Artswell is a registered charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and well being of individuals living with the effects of age, illness or injury. Our goal is to empower individuals and communities through exposure to and engagement in the arts.
Artswell’s mission is devoted to promoting the arts as an agent for healing, believing that creative expression plays a key role in sustaining and restoring the health of the body, mind and spirit.
We design and deliver: interactive creative; expressive arts programs; community arts projects; creativity and wellness workshops; and presentations for hospitals, long-term care facilities, palliative care, support centres and communities where accessibility is vital and special requirements are factors. We offer respite and support to families, staff and caregivers.
Our programs serve people of all ages and conditions both within institutional settings and the broader community. We are a mobile arts and health service and we hire, on a contract basis, trained, professional, multi disciplinary artists and therapists to facilitate our programs and projects.
Motions and Potions Invites You to Paint Up a Storm
The Motions and Potions workshop series is making a very special change to it's 10-session program.
The May 5 workshop has been cancelled to make way for a fabulous free expressive arts workshop. It gives us all the chance to explore feel-good music and colours kn a really relaxed atmosphere.
All ages are welcome and it is Free.
Artswell is running the show in conjunction with Hopewell and we want you to join us for "Shifting Colours" on May 12. It runs from 1 to 4pm at Heartwood House Gallery, 153 Chapel Street (corner of Rideau and Chapel).
